Mr. Chandra Kumar Ghimire is currently the Secretary for Commerce, Government of Nepal. For over 25 years, Secretary Ghimire has been serving the Government of Nepal in various roles and capacities. Prior to his current appointment, he was the Secretary at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Government of Nepal. He has made significant contributions as Secretary at National Planning Commission and the Consul General of Nepal at the Consulate General of Nepal, Kolkata, India. Mr. Ghimire has received numerous awards, medals and decorations, including the prestigious Suprabal Jana Sewashri Medal, for his contribution to the public services. Mr. Ghimire has represented Nepal in various international and national forums and has published extensively in reputed national and international journals and other platforms. Beside his noteworthy contributions to public service, Mr. Ghimire has published two anthologies of poems. Mr. Ghimire has an M.Phil. in Public Policy from University of Bergen, Norway. He is a Gold Medalist from Tribhuvan University in Master of Public Administration. He has attended a host of training programs and certifications, including, Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, US and University of York, UK, where he was a Chevening Fellow.
