Celebrating World Science Day for Peace and Development 2025

World Science Day for Peace and Development established by UNESCO in 2001 celebrated annually on 10th November highlights the significant contribution of science to society and emphasizes the importance of engaging the broader public in discussions on emerging scientific issues. It also underscores the significance and continued relevance of science in our daily life as science serves as foundation for innovation, environmental sustainability and inclusive growth in an era of technological transformation. This year's theme "Trust, transformation, and tomorrow: The science we need for 2050" provides an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of scientific collaboration in addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

Aligning with the theme of World Science Day for Peace and Development 2025, the Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA) is organizing a roundtable meeting on 13th November 2025 with the title 'Harnessing Science for Connectivity, Climate Action, and Clean Energy'. Connectivity, climate security and energy transition serve as key enablers in accelerating progress toward achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

This roundtable aims to bring together academics, climate, energy and connectivity experts, media and civil society to discuss how scientific knowledge, technology, and collaboration can transform global connectivity and accelerate transitions toward a low-carbon economy, and promote sustainable energy solutions.
